The Computer Center is used by students in Kindergarten through Grade 8.
The center's goal is to help students by using computers for reading, writing and research. The students are taught how to use a computer as a tool to help with their education.
Research skills are taught using software and the Internet. Word processing skills are taught to all grade levels with an emphasis placed on how to visually improve work through computer technology. In the middle school, students are introduced to computer technology - how they work - and the history of computers, in order to broaden their understanding of this technology.
In addition to the 27-station Computer Center housed in the Auditorium building, computers are available in each classroom and in the Library. Grades 3-8 the Classrooms are equipped with the most current technology including LCD Projectors with large screen viewing capability, DVD Players, Cable Access, multiple student computer workstations as well as 2 "Elmo" Electronic Overhead Projectors.
We have a school-wide faculty/staff e-mail system, a networked library card catalog system and we use the Accelerated Reader Program software based system throughout the school.
